Made from "Upcycled" solid oak wine barrels.
100% Natural
100% Unique
Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value.
These hand crafted votive candle holder’s make a unique center piece on the dining room table. These pieces can be showcased many places. Table, buffet, bookshelf, mantle, kitchen counter, dresser, anywhere you need some additional light.
Each piece is hand crafted from a winery barrel stave. I’ve sanded them smooth then hand rubbed with an all natural bee's wax. The wine stain remains on one side, showing unique hues.
I am in favor of allowing the natural form of the staves be put on display. They are a work of art.
The colors, bands, wine stains and holes vary from piece to piece. Each one is truly “one-of-a-kind”

Cuvee Series are table centerpieces that
can hold fruit, bread, candies or whatever
you’d like to showcase in a one of a kind
art piece. Made entirely from barrel staves
and displaying years of wine stains.
The Mini CooperSmith Series displays some
of the unique characters of the barrel stave’s
construction, but in a smaller size.
Sets of 2 or 3 can provide unique settings
The Opus Series (3, 5 or 7 votive candles)
displays the strength contained
in the “arch” of the stave, yet deliveries it with finesse
The Peenoh (Pinot) showcases the stave’s
construction and details on three sides.
The outside of the stave, the wine stained
inside, and the cross section all tell a
wonderful story.
Just like… a Pinot.

The Santiago pays homage to one of my
favorite Architects, Santiago Calatrava.
The lines are long and sinuous and reflect a simple natural form. On display are
deep burgundy stains, left behind from the wine that once graced the inside of the barrel
Other pieces that not displayed:
The Wright Stave
pays homage to the American
Master Architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. His use
of cantilevered structures is exemplified is this
unique gift to display the wine bottle.
BorDoh Boards (Bordeaux) are wine staves
transformed into one of a kind cutting or
serving boards. Just as there are numerous
appellations of wine from the Bordeaux region.
Pietro (p8) Furgiuele● Landscape Designer● Horticulturist● Upcycle Artist
About the Designer:
Pietro Furgiuele was born and raised in the Rochester, NY area. Pietro received his B.S. in Horticulture and Landscape Design from Colorado State University. As a classically trained Landscape Designer, Pietro’s work is in an ever evolving state. Previous noteworthy commissions included the 2000 and 2002 RPO Symphony Showhouses, in which numerous designers combined efforts to raise money for the RPO.
In 2008 and 2009, Pietro and his design/build firm Waterford Tilling were awarded Best In Show at the highly acclaimed Rochester Flower Show. His 2008 installation titled “ReCycle, ReThink, REGARDEN” went on to garner the attention from the USEPA.
This exhibit featured a green wall, an arbor made from recycled pallets and all natural or reclaimed materials.
Furgiuele and Waterford Tilling again won Best In Show at the 2009 Flower Show with their exhibit titled “Deconstructing Eden”. This installation examined the textual meaning of garden elements versus implied meaning.
In the summer of 2010, Pietro exhibited one of his creations at the Rochester International Jazz Festival. “Sustainable with Jazz” featured two 9’ cubes displaying living green walls. At night, the cubes glowed as lights from within shined through the fabric and stone panels of the cube.
Pietro and Waterford Tilling continue to work with clientele in the Rochester area on a wide variety of projects. Most recently, Pietro is drawn to sustainable and environmentally efficient methods to revitalize the downtown Rochester area. His newest projects are seeking to collaborate with the arts community, landscape colleagues, city residents and create an outdoor art exhibit on vacant land.
Aside from landscape endeavors, Pietro is constantly in the studio creating one of a kind “Upcycled” art/gift pieces. At Studio P8, he is combining experiences in stone and wood, these pieces are seen throughout the area in various venues. His work with wine barrel staves is particularly special to him, as he is the third generation out four in his family that is active in making wine to this day.
Above all else, Pietro is most proud of his family. His wonderful wife Kristie and he are smitten with their 4 year old son, Leonardo. Pietro’s family emigrated from Italy over 40 years ago and is committed to being together and celebrating old world customs and virtues with friends and family. Sharing a love of food, wine and family is something that Pietro cares about deeply.
